This image was shot on location inside a rather dark stable. The only light that was available was that of the reflected sun light beyond the door. The quality of the reflected light from outside was very soft, and I wanted to preserve the look even though I needed to use substantial fill light.
Balancing light levels is often the same whether you're shooting film or digital. The big difference is that you can preview digital, whereas, film forces you to visualize how the film "sees." For me, having experience with film has been an advantage for shooting successfully with digital.
